Todd Berghuis, Sr. ERISA Attorney at Integrated Retirement and ASPPA DOL subcommittee Chair, believes that “the DOL’s Conflict of Interest rule is dramatically changing the retirement plan industry, regardless of the ultimate fate of the rule. Institutions are adopting new policies and procedures for handling IRA rollovers and reshaping the scope of investment advice services – with or without the DOL’s rule.”
